Ideal 20" THUMBELINA Baby Doll Restored Body w/Custom Made Outfit Pink & White

Description: DESCRIPTION: I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U.S. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OFFERED. I'm offering today an adorable vintage Ideal Thumbelina baby doll. This sweet little baby is approximately 20" in length and was produced in 1961. She has a clean, restored soft body with vinyl head, legs and arms. When this little baby came to me, she was so pitiful and had to be completely torn apart, because of the horrible condition she was in. Her body had to be soaked for several days to remove all the horrible dirt. The original winding mechanism was rusted and frozen up, so it had to be removed. The back side of her body does have some mended areas, which I wanted to do to keep the original body. Her rooted dark blonde hair remains shiny and looks precious with her custom made hair band I created for her. I took all the horrible stuffing out of the body and soaked the body in a cleaning solution which I've used for many, many years. As you can see, most of the stains were removed. Having said all that, she is clean once again and ready to enjoy for many years to come. When I deep clean these old dolls, they soak for a couple days, then are rinsed and soaked again for another day or so. After that, I hang them out to dry in the clean air which removes all horrible odors which were once associated with the doll. Also, all the germs and other bacteria which are contained within very old dolls is removed. You cannot imagine the filth one sees when these dolls are torn apart. I digress. While the body is drying, I hand wash the dolls head and get into the corners of their eyes, lips, nose and ears. I carefully remove the dirt in these tiny areas so they look new once again. As you can see, she is so precious. I know there are those out there who disagree with me, but when you find these hard to acquire baby dolls from the 1960's, you just try to bring what you can back to life once more. Restoring a vintage doll is a very time consuming project and truly, you must know what you're doing. I knew immediately, this doll had to be completely re-done to bring her back to new again. Restorations are rather expensive depending on what is necessary to make her whole and beautiful. I'm very proud of this little darlin', because she is so sweet. I hope there are many who love her as much as I do. I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at the top of her head, she has dark blonde rooted hair which frames her adorable face perfectly. Her bangs come just above her eye brows. She is wearing a custom made hair band, which I created to match her two piece outfit I created for her. As you go down to her face, she has meticulously hand painted blue eyes with delicate detailing. Her button nose has nostrils which flows down to her precious rosebud shape lips. Her lips are open and painted a soft pink color and look just like she might be "cooing" at you. Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful pink coloring. The back of this baby's neck is hallmarked: "Ideal Toy Corp., OTT-19". All fingers and toes are there and are oh so sweet. As most of you who follow me know, I pick their outfits based upon the way their faces look and what they speak to my heart. With this precious face and such a beautiful doll, she had to be in something very special. These dolls are getting harder and harder to come by, so I wanted this one to be extra special for her new mommy. This two piece cotton outfit I created for her is done in soft pastel pink with white flowers covering the surface of the fabric. The long sleeve top comes up high around the neck, which I added precious white ruffled lace. I also added elastic to fit the neck securely so the top wouldn't fall down exposing the dolls body. I added the same delicate white ruffled lace to the bottom of the top and topped it off with a pastel pink bow. The pants are matching fabric with an elastic waist, which I measured to fit the doll exactly. The pants are long and come down just past her knees, revealing those precious chubby baby legs. She is wearing custom made pink booties, which have the same pastel pink ribbon, which I tied large bows on top of each booty. To top all of this off, I added this adorable and very full white tulle tutu with soft pastel pink bow in front with streamers flowing down the front of the tutu. She looks so sweet. Best of luck winning this precious doll. My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough. My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy. All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I've missed something it would never be intentional. SIZE: This is the larger size baby doll. She measures approximately 20" in length. CONDITION: This doll is a vintage baby doll which has been completely restored. As I described above, her original body was in horrible condition, so it had to restored and soaked for several days to get it back to it's original condition. The winding mechanism was rusted and frozen, so it had to be removed. There are some mended areas on the back of the body, but this had to be done to keep the original body. She has new stuffing, but is still able to sit and lay without falling all over herself. I try not to get them too stuffed so you are able to put her in different positions. She is wearing a two piece outfit, which I created just for her. She is wearing custom made pink booties with pastel pink ribbons and bows. She has all her fingers and toes and is oh so sweet.
