Description: Offered today this beautiful original 1893 Whiting Imperial Queen Sterling Silver Grapefruit Spoon with Gold Wash bowl. Spoon is 5 1/4" long and in EXCELLENT condition. It bears Whiting hallmark on back and spoon bowl is engraved with "Harvey 97" safe to assume this was a gift in 1897 to Harvey. Would make a lovely conversation serving piece or a great addition to your collection. Carefully washed leaving the nice warm silver patina with minimal surface scratches (as would be expected on used flatware of this age....it adds to the character). I NEVER BUFF OR USE MACHINE POLISHING, after all I know most prefer these vintage pieces to remain that way natural and fit in with your existing, NOT NEW.
