Description: A solid brass single Shabbat candlestick/candle holder. Baluster form stem on a round, stepped base. Originally this candlestick was silver plated, you can see the remains of silver on the underside of the base. Marked to the underside: "N" into an oval for normal thickness of silver (usually on brass); "Norblin & Co." for manufacturer; "Galw." for "galwanizacja" in Polish, or "galvanization" in English; "Warszawa" for city of Warsaw; "Double-Headed Eagle" warrant for Russian Empire; numerals "1 50" probably for pattern or manufacturer's code. Made by Norblin & Co., in Warsaw, Poland, ca.1872-1893 (part of the Russian Empire at that time). Photos will tell you more. Approx.: Height: 6in. (15cm.) Base Diameter: 3-3/4in. (9.5cm.)
