This is a listing for a INGRAHAM TOWER MODEL DOLLAR ( no jewel manual wind movement) WRISTWATCH IN GOOD RUNNING ORDER, Circa 1948. This watch was time tested for 18 hours (when it stopped) and it gained over 7 minutes, which is good timing for a non-jeweled watch that is over 70 years old. The watch winds and sets as it should. The watch kept decent time (3 to 5+ minutes ) during much of the time test, but gained more time as it got to the stopping time of 18 hours. This time performance is still a lot better than most of these watches offered online. This watch is very collectible as it represents the time period just after WW2, when dollar pocket watches were still being made and sold and there was a market for a low cost wristwatch. The watch has the Art Deco Style of the 1930's with its case style and dial layout. The dial is absolutely stunning with its original golden hour band. I have never seen another dollar wristwatch in this great vintage condition in over 40 years of watch collecting! The watch movement is marked "2 48" and I believe it means: Feb. 1948 for date of manufacture. This watch is a must for the collector of dollar watches and should not be missed! Most watches of this type do not even run at all and have damaged dials. This is the one to get for your collection. The watch measurements are all approx.: 31.5mm case width (including crown), 40.5mm lug to lug, 10.6mm case thickness and has a standard 17mm leather strap in nice condition.
