Description: Interior Oak Trees are ever green. They are very hearty even throughout consecutive years of severe droughts. They are to be watered regularly. These live for an average of 200 years. Interior Oak Trees are versitle as well. They can grow into either shrubs or tall wide shady trees. They produce elongated, light colored acorns, and flower twice annually in the winter and spring. These are deer resistant and excellent for stabilizing soil / banks. Interior Oak Trees can grow in some places where other oaks can't, including areas where the soil is comprised of igneous rock (rocks made of molten material) and even granite. In part, this is due to their interior having the ability to dig down deep into the ground to find sources of water other oak trees may miss. Studies found the Interior Oak trees have the deepest root structures of all oak trees globally. Their leaves are generally flat, thick and evergreen, aiding in water retention during summer months. The trees offered in this listing do not include the vase in the pictures. They have grown from heiritage, non-GMO parent trees that started in CA, USA during the 1950s or 60s. No poisons have been used in their yard for two decades. Their parent trees have shaded numerous parties, picnics, swings attached to their limbs and green yards. Entire families, friends and their pets have enjoyed lounging and playing beneath the parents shady limbs. The canopies of the parent trees to the seedlings offered, are in the last photograph. The rooftops of houses and telephone pole to their right help to percieve their size. While the resources I have researched read that these grow at different rates, in my experience the one in the vase grew to 14 inches above ground within 2 to 3 months. Another grew to 33 inches above ground and 17 inches wide within less than 1 year in the South San Francisco Bay Area. This is typical experience in my neighborhood.
