The following bio was found online: He was a member of the Buffalo Society of Artists and Western New York Artists Group, Irving Mink (1927-2014) was also a research scientist at Roswell Park Memorial Institute and educator who painted and exhibited locally, nationally and internationally for 50 years. He won many awards, had one-man shows in Toronto, New York City, Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo, and his works are represented in over 800 private collections. Mink was born in the Bronx, NYC, but moved to Buffalo NY as a child, where he built a career as a well-known abstract expressionist painter. He started painting seriously as a newlywed, when he and his wife Louise would visit furniture stores, see what was hanging on the walls, and then go home and reproduce the art, He moved to large-scale abstract expressionist landscapes, then in the 1970s and 80s worked primarily in ink and pastels on paper. His work can be found in homes throughout the United States. His artist statement says in part: "My goals are simple; to create beauty, something that is good to look at. Old people, lonely people, are often my subjects; I paint what I feel, influenced only by vague memories, a fleeting emotional fancy. This is my piece of history, my footprints in the sands of time."
