PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Areza Island Wound Dressing (Bordered Gauze) is a non-adherent, minimally absorptive, and self adhesive dressing. The central pad (4"x4") is composed of non-woven viscose fibers which on wound facing surface covered with a fenestrated non-adherent layer. The backing of the dressing (6"x6") is made of polyurethane and Spunlace fabric and is covered with adhesives. The non-adherent wound facing layer provides this dressing the unique ability to be used on minimally exuding wounds. This conformable dressing may reduce risk of physical damage and bacterial contamination of wounds. The dressings are individually packed and are sterile. Examples of wounds include: pressure ulcers, mixed vascular wounds, leg ulcers, lacerations and abrasions, partial and full-thickness wounds and first and second-degree burns.PRECAUTIONS: Do not use on third-degree burns.Single Use Only. Do not reuse or re-sterilize.Do not use if pouch is damaged or open.Do not use on dry wounds. There can be risk of damaging the wound during removal if dried and adhered to wound.Non-waterproof, water resistant. Water and liquid can pass through the adhesive fabric backing, but the central non-adherent, viscose fiber pad may delay the water or liquid to reach the inside layer of the dressing. The dressing may need to be changed if it is wet from external liquids.Colored liquids, such as urine, can discolor the outside of the dressing.For fragile skin, it is recommended to prepare the skin with commercial skin protectors on the areas where the adhesive tape will be applied before its applicationDIRECTIONS: 1. Cleanse the wound with sterile saline or another cleansing solution and pat dry.2. Position the central absorbent pad onto the wound’s surface. Gently press down the adhesive border onto the clean and dry periwound skin.3. Secondary dressing is not required.4. Change the dressing as needed or as instructed by wound care provider.5. To remove: If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline water prior to removal. Remove carefully to avoid damaging the periwound skin.
