One of my greatest regrets ( in my whole life ! ) was never catching ( & continuously-missing ?!? ) the Garcia & Grisman Shows at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco between 1991-93. I lived in the Pacific Northwest at that time - and would make the 10 hour drive ( depending on your personal MPH decision - Ha ! ) to see plenty ( Plenty !! ) of Grateful Dead ! & ' Electric ' Jerry Garcia Band ! Shows !! in the Bay Area. But, I always told my Friends at the time that I would get down for a few of these - one small run, maybe one Show ? But it never happened - and that I wholeheartedly regret. This little window between '91 & '93 was everybody's ' only ' chance actually - and I am so happy for you if you made it. I mean as we all know from the recordings ( Shady Grove - All Around This World - Pizza Tapes ! - etc. ) that these two were " Absolute-Magic ! " together !! So well said in this DVD Video - in one of the interviews ( sorry, as I have spaced on who-exactly said it ? ) that " Jerry loosened David up & David tightened Jerry up " - fact is, these guys Were ! the earliest Deadheads / Dawgheads - driving around the country recording bluegrass on an old tape recorder of some sort. This Amazing ! documentary shares so much personal & intimate info about their friendship - history & even their plans for the future - it is simply excellent ... and a " Must-Have " if you Love the Acoustic Music they put together - made together & made-better. To the great surprise of many ... Jerry & David didn't speak for over a decade over bad blood ( money-stuff ) on the Old & In the Way royalties ( I think that was how it went - as I tried to close my ears during that part ) - but then reunited in the Late 80's ( by sheer coincidence ) - and then really Musically-reunited at the Sweetwater ! in Marin County during a Christmas Party where they performed together for the 1st time since the Early/Mid-70's ! Thankfully for all of us Music-Lovers - they buried the ( long-overdue to be buried ! ) hatchet - and put these two peas from the same musical pod back in the studio & soon back on the stage at the Warfield Theater !!! The Live - Studio - Photo & Interview footage ( + bonus footage ) on this DVD is Absolutely-Incredible !!
