Description: M: Writings '67-'72 Author: John Cage Title: M: Writings '67-'72 Publication: Middletown, Connecticut: Wesleyan University Press, 1973 Description: Hardcover. Stated First Edition. Square Quarto (4to). viii. 217pp. Publisher's cloth boards. Signed and inscribed by John Cage in the form of an original acrostic poem. The poem is styled in lighthearted emulation of several others published in the present volume, most notably the acrostic for Marcel Duchamp. The subject of the poem was Cage's close friend, the ethnomusicologist Fredric Lieberman, who was responsible for arranging many of Cage's notable lectures and performances at institutions across the country and himself a Cage expert. The warmth and wit of the poem beautifully exemplifies the playful genius of the iconoclastic composer. A wonderful association copy. NEAR FINE in Very Good dust jacket protected in a removable archival cover. The book itself shows a hint of shelf rubbing of the corners, else Fine/As New. The dust jacket shows marginal shelf rubbing along the edges with the slightest hint of chipping at the topmost of the spine, panels lightly rubbed, otherwise is not price-clipped remaining bright, colorful, and distinct. As pictured. Terms All items are guaranteed to be as described or they may be returned within 14 days of receipt for a full refund. This listing was created by Bibliopolis.
