All of the most popular Sea Glass locations have been picked clean for years, and the chances of coming across pieces of Davenport glass that have been recently found, are slim. And that is what makes Sea Glass so special. Every imperfection, and every mark and divot in a piece of glass tells a story, a story that a machine tumbled piece does not have. The best way to explain cultured (machine tumbled) glass, is to liken it to a polished stone. All the markings will be the same feel and depth. It will feel very smooth and have zero physical character. Multi-colored pieces will either be very old, or very new. The older the glass, the rounder, or more uniform it'll be. If it's large, is evenly smoothed down, and has a mix of colors that aren't consistent with glass production years, it's a fake.
