Description: This sale is for a DC cord that is an optional method of powering the JRC NRD-525, NRD-535, and NRD-545 receivers. This cord is used and came from another piece of electronic equipment, but works perfectly with JRC receivers. These DC cords are not easy to locate if you are searching for one and this DC cord is fused to protect your receiver. Please note that the DC cable was the reverse in polarity and incorrect. We had our service tech reverse the plug to enable this DC cable to be used with JRC equipment. The spliced connection was covered with shrink wrap and it is not obvious to recognize the reversal, but it can be seen with close inspection. The advantage about operating the unit off of DC current is that you avoid a lot of the heat buildup with the internal power supply....thus lengthening the lifespan of the components. In addition, DC current is typically quieter as it does not introduce noise into the receiver that often is present with AC current. This is most important for weak signal listening.
