Description: Frances K. Judd (pseud. of Elizabeth Mildred Duffield Ward), The Strange Echo. New York: Books Inc., 1941, 1952. Hardcover in dust jacket, 192 pp. The endpapers are blank. This title was originally published in 1934 by Cupples & Leon as #2 in the Kay Tracey series which ran to 18 volumes between 1934 and 1942. The book was later revised when issued by Books Inc. (and Garden City Books) in the 1950s. This is my childhood copy that I purchased new in the late 1950s. The pages are tanned with age but supple. My name and former address are rubber-stamped in two places (redacted in the images). The series lists have my penciled annotations. A spot at the bottom inner margin of p. 192 which stuck to the endpaper created a small circular hole when the page was pulled away. The jacket is now in a protective mylar wrapper, which improves its appearance greatly. Note: Shadows in the images of the pages are an artifact of the scanner.
