This impressive looking 8 day cuckoo clock was made in the Black Forest of Germany circa 1970's. It is nicely carved and highly detailed with a medium brown finish that is extremely attractive. The fern style leah carvings are rarely found. It has the original standard 8 day Regula movement that has been cleaned and serviced with new bellows tops added. It runs well and cuckoos properly. As mentioned, this is a large clock, measuring 24" from the top bird to the bottom of the case, NOT counting the huge weights or pendulum, and 14" across the top piece. Large vintage 8 day cuckoo clocks in good condition are getting harder and harder to find and are becoming a favorite among many clock enthusiasts. The unusually carved clocks are even better.
