The painting is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs and was relined at some point in its history. Signed on the lower left and measuring 31 1/2" wide x 40 1/2" high with the original gilt frame measuring 40" wide x 49 high x 4 1/2" width. The beautiful frame is excellent. He lived in Grand Rapids prior to moving to California. With his wife Melisse Jewell, he was a resident of San Diego from 1932-38. He died in Illinois in August 1984.
