Description: I bought these pins on my business trips. Communist party of the USSR made a decision to build country houses the same way as they built in cities. They would have the same utilities (water, sour, gas, paved roads, etc.) like city houses have. The plan was to build about 400 experimental villages around the USSR. My goal was to visit these construction sites and to prepare a report for the Soviet Ministry department about the construction progress. During these trips (1969-1973y) I collected a fair number of pins from all over the USSR. Select one pin. Additional, ship free. Save $2.00 shipping cost. If not selected will send #1 Buy 5 pin, will ship set of 6 Latvia. 1969y. We visited Ministry of agriculture, Ministry of construction and many other offices, collected all information about our experimental villages and I said: “Lena go to hell these villages, let’s go to Seaside, where pines almost touch the sea, where sand as soft as velvet, where sun does not burn you, but caresses you, where people do not left garbage on the beaches. Sigulda, Jurmala. Everything is so unlike Russia. Everything breathes with comfort. The impression is that you are abroad, in Europe. And theirs “whipped cream" it's so yummy. We picked Jurmala,it was close to Riga and combine business and pleasure, as our village was in that area. 1. Ventspils, a beautiful city on the Baltic Sea. Just across Stockholm. We visited village at Pitene near Ventspils. Old peasant in Pitene came to us: “We don’t need your dumb village. For years we lived on our farms. You came to us bloody…” We hurried to leave before the swearing turned into a fight.2. Sigulda tourist Camp. (such a beautiful small city)3. Rundales Pils (Palace Museum)4. Cesis is on the Gauja River valley, and is built on a series of ridges above the river, overlooking the woods below. Cēsis was selected to be one of the candidate cities for the title of the European Capital of Culture 2014 (Riga that won the title).5. Salaspils. Our village, which we need to see, is located in this area. On the way, naturally, we visited Salaspils. The oldest settlements in Latvia. Archaeological excavations of 1964–1975.
