Typed letter signed "Leopold Stokowski". 1 page, 8½x5¼, on Stokowski's personalized stationery. Nov. 3, 1966. In full: "Dear Mr. Wargo Thank you for your great kindness in sending the records to my daughter Mrs. Homi de Vitre in Switzerland. When the Vivaldi is ready I am sure she will be glad to receive the record. Please give my warmest grettings to Mr. D'Amato. I hope we 3 meet soon. Sincerely". MARTY WARGO was Stokowski's producer from 1963 to 1970 and his personal manager from 1973 until Stokowski's death in 1977. Stokowski (1882-1977, born Leopold Antoni Stanislaw Boleslawawicz Stokowski in London England) conducted the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (1909-1912), Philadelphia Orchestra (1914-1936), N.Y. Symphony Orchestra (1944-1945) and Houston Symphony (1955-1962). He formed the American Symphony Orchestra in 1962. He was known for his lush interpretations of the classics and it was under his baton that the orchestra played the music for Disney's Fantasia (1940). Lightly creased and rippled. Lighted dented on left edge. Folded twice and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
