Description: It says "used," but there isn't a mark of any sort on this item. It's exactly as it was in 1962. As good an example of this 40B as you're ever likely to find. MINT is all I can say! Check also the pristine baseplate. I quote now from Matchbox itself: "This Matchbox model was introduced in 1962 and made up to 1967. It is always the same pale silvery blue with green windows. The only variation which is both obvious to the eye and makes a difference to value is the color of the wheels. They can be grey plastic, silver plastic or black plastic. Look out for the buses with grey plastic wheels as they are the hardest to find and most valuable models." The box is without a crease but will never win a concourse prize as the left hand flap is permanently closed (the inner flaps are attached and fine (just inside the box obviously). The right hand side is missing the lower flap (image ten). For all that, the model displays well enough (last image). Being the original box, it would be foolish to discard it when 90% of it is without fault!
