Description: Lilium philippinense is a 9-species in the Liliaceae family. Its native range is from Taiwan to the Philippines. Familiar names include Benguet lily, or Philippine lily. This rare lily resembles Lilium formosanum except this oone is more white with faint purple streaks and green stripes. It is short lived but worth the wait. Keep this one inside or protected from winds. It can grow to around 8 feet tall and will require a structure. The fragrant down-facing flowers are 8" long and in a trumpet form. It prefers to grow in full sun with average water needs. Zones 10-11 Germination Keep lily seeds frozen in a tightly sealed plastic bag until you are ready to sow. Sow seeds 1/2' deep into the soil and keep moist in a sunny location. Germination occurs in 3-4 weeks. You will have strong plants with mature stems in 3 years.
