Description: Great condition Line 6 M5. I would recommend using the unit in DSP bypass mode as the true bypass mode has a worse decibel drop on certain effects when comparing it to the clean tone with the M5 disengaged. I checked this in my DAW as I run into a computer for my amplifier needs. Other effects can potentially have a slight boost in volume it depends on what is chosen. Seems to be about 2-3 decibels either way. After much research on forums I found that this is how this unit behaves in true bypass mode and I have also read of a user having the same result in DSP Bypass. Line 6 never released any updates for these units to resolve the volume drop/boost. Again, running in DSP bypass seems to be the best setting, but it will affect your tone, think of it as a buffered bypass. When setting up presets it is important to know that each patch you create requires you to save the bypass type for each individual patch, the bypass type is not a global setting. The power supply reads 250ma. I have heard in forums you need at least 400ma to run the pedal but I have been able to successfully power on and play through the pedal at 250ma. I’ve also used a 400ma output and 500ma output from Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 4x4 and Truetone CS6 power supplies to power the unit, I didn’t find any significant change using these. The back of the pedal states you need 500ma. A lot of confusion online with people scratching their heads about this. However, Line 6 did ship these units with the 250ma supplies at one point, others in forums have confirmed this as well. Please do research on all that I am stating here before making an offer or committing to buy this pedal. I do not accept returns for any reason.
