This steel is very hard, offers some stain resistance and is strong. The handle Is premium black G10 and the handle fills the hand beautifully with no hot spots for long periods of field craft. The blade has a steel sabre grind with a fine edge. The spine is not 90 degrees (my preference) and they have brilliantly added a flat spot on the pommel of the knife to strike a fire steel safely and you aren't forced to tear up your thumb on a sharp knife spine. In our opinion, the B40 is the ideal Bushcraft and camp blade! Want the edge of your knife to be optimized and the best it can be? Choose the Stropped Edge option and for 10 dollars more I will hand strop the edge of your knife to make the factory edge exceptionally sharp and ready to go. Knife is SHARP!
