Lot NASA Wernher von Braun Signed Certificate 1964 Herman Thomason Award READ

Description: For sale is an original Wernher von Braun black-ink, hand-signed NASA certificate along with other NASA autographed documents from the estate of a local (Huntsville, AL) NASA MSFC employee. Dr. Herman E. Thomason was a longtime NASA engineer, inventor, author and administrator. He began work with NASA in the 1950s and by 1962, was serving as the deputy chief of the Astrionics Division Gyro and Stabilizer Branch. In March of 1969, He began serving as the Deputy Director of the Preliminary Design Office, with the launch of the Program Development Office. In this high-profile role, and in light of some of his inventions and accomplishments, he received some hand-signed letters and commendations from Wernher Von Braun, including the one here in this lot (and a couple of others that I am listing).This is an Feb 28, 1964 Ten Year Service Award to Dr. Thomason from von Braun. I originally thought this was an auto-pen signature, but a local NASA specialist I enlisted told me that this signature had at least 7 variants from any of the standard NASA Auto-pens. Very cool.
