lot of 2 mini wood planes w/ copper bodies for luthier or violin maker

Description: You are bidding on one lot of 2 mini wood planes as pictured. They are not marked, and I can't tell you who made them.The bodies on both are copper, with steel cross pins and irons. The cap on the longer narrower plane is brass with brass and steel hardware. The cap on the more round plane is steel with brass and steel hardware, and is peened together.Included are:--- the longer and narrower plane. The body is roughly 1-5/8" by 15/16" in overall size. The iron is not quite 5/8" in width, and it sits in a notch at the rear of the body. Condition is good to very good, with some tarnish, except that the cap looks like it has been repaired or reinforced towards the lower end, visible only on the back side of the cap. --- the more round plane. Overall size of the body is roughly 1-1/8" wide by 1-3/16" in length. The iron is about 11/16" in width. It doesn't have the benefit of the notch at the rear of the body to sit in. Condition is good to very good, with some tarnish.The irons are a thin steel, about .035" thick, and both irons will want a light sharpening. I have included a US quarter in two of the pictures to give you a sense of their sizes. The quarter is not included. SHIPPING: Under 1 pound when boxed, insurance is included. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly. As a bidder, I really dislike going back at the end of an auction to bid, only to discover that the seller had ended the auction early.
