Description: Lot of 71904 St. Louis World's Fair Building Color Prints1904 Supplement to San Francisco Sunday Call Newspaper A collection of 7 different prints featuring buildings at the 1904 World's Fair in Saint Louis. These are all authentic prints from 1904. These 15.5" by 9.5" prints were inserted as a weekly supplement to the San Francisco Sunday Call newspaper (likely leading up to or during the fair). Since these were issued weekly instead of all together as a set, it is quite scarce to find such a large group together. The prints are quite interesting as they are bold color depictions and the lower margin also lists the size of the building and the cost to construct. The collection includes the following buildings: Palace of Electricity, California State Building, Palace of Transportation, Palace of Liberal Arts, Palace of Machinery, Educational and Social Economy Palace, and the Palace of Varied Industries. SIZE: Each print measures 15.5" by 9.5" in sizeCONDITION: The prints are in Fair condition for their age, all showing noticeable wear from handling. Due to their size and how they were distributed (circulated in the weekly newspaper) these types of prints often show wear and minor damage. Every print has a 1" tear to the same location at the left edge. A few prints also have additional tears to the margins or torn/missing corners. Two of the prints have creases near a corner. One print has some paper loss and surface wear to the front. All prints have some surface impressions and wrinkles from handling. The colors are still bold and vibrant with minimal fading. The collection will ship secured via USPS Ground Advantage.Shipping and handling for this listing is FREE.
