Description: For sale here is a parts/repair/rebuild guitar project of a Lowrey model S organ amplifier. The model S (Berkshire) was the first model made by Lowrey for home use. There are no tubes with this amplifier. The tubes required for it are: 3 - 6SN7; 2 - 6L6; 2 - 6AU4; 2 - 12AU7, and 1 - 6SL7. The organ that this came out of was quite dusty inside. Most of the dust was cleaned from the top/tube side, but the underside was just lightly vacuumed to remove some of the dust. When I last had this plugged in with a set of tubes in it, all tubes in the amplifier lit up and were warming. Then, after about 90 seconds, it started making like Kellogs Rice Krispies -- snapping, crackling, and popping. I immediately pulled the plug and cut the power cord. The noises were not coming from the speakers, but seemed to be coming from the 2 Sprague tubular wax capacitors, seen in the pictures of the underside of the amp. But I am not 100% sure that was where the sounds were coming from. So, at the least, this would probably need recapped. The transformers are fairly heavy and make the weight of the amp just about 23 pounds. The numbers on the transformers, largest to smallest, are: (A 5092-1, 174647); (41x-8, 174623); and (A 5091; 174623). Again, selling this as a parts/repair/rebuild project, in AS-IS, AS PICTURED condition. All questions welcomed and will be answered promptly.
