Description: Lucien Delarue Original Oil on Linen Painting of the Seine in Paris. Delarue paintings are widely collected and make wonderful additions to any art collection. They add beauty to any room. This painting, a view of the Seine River, received the Bronze Medal from the City of Paris in 1969. The painting is in excellent vintage condition with no rips or tears. Given that it is over 50 years old, it isn’t unusual for a painting of this age to be ever so slightly wavy on the stretcher. It is not noticeable but I mention it for the sake of completion. There is also a slight mark on the lower liner. Lucien Delarue was born on November 10th, 1925 in Paris. He studied at the studios of Grande Chaumiere, Paris and was a pupil of Maitre Yves Brayer. He is best known as a French Impressionist. He loved to paint the streets of Paris with its stunning architecture and beauty. At a very early age Delarue began taking part in exhibitions. Quickly he was awarded medals for his works including first prize and the Vermeil-Medaille at the Salon Violet. Other gold medals include the Salon of Vincennes, and the Salon of Clichy (1973).
