M A Hadley Ship & Whale Covered Casserole The End 10" Stoneware Pottery

Description: Authentic M. A. Hadley The End Covered Casserole with Handles in the discontinued Ship & Whale pattern. Stoneware hand painted art pottery hand made in Louisville, KY, where M A Hadley has operated since 1939. Glossy finish over light gray (not beige as it appears in my photos) background. The Ship & Whale pattern has a clipper ship and a super cute whale in different shades of blue with green and light brown accents. The interior base of the casserole is painted with "The End." The lid and the bowl are both signed. Approximately 10" from end of handle to end of handle. 5" tall to the top of the lid, while the bowl uncovered is 3" tall. The opening of the casserole is approximately 6.75" in diameter; the base is approximately 8" in diameter. The covered casserole weighs approximately 6 pounds. Hand wash. I've seen this called a 1 3/4 QT casserole. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or loss of finish. The rough edges of the lid and the bowl bottom show some darkening signs of display. I don't see any signs of use but there are some faint very thin black lines on the lower exterior of the bowl (see last photo). I don't know if these occurred from storage or packing or during production somehow. A wonderful look for your table or display on a shelf; these are discontinued and hard to find. Please note that if I have overestimated the shipping charge of this heavy and large item, I will refund the difference. We did it - we downsized!
