Description: Up for sale one 1-2 year old maclura pomifera plant 12+ inches tall. Also known as Osage orange. Plants will be sent with pot and soil where it grows during the summer(May to September), bare root during winter month when plant is dormant (no leaves)(October to April). Plant may be trimmed in order to fit in the mailing tube or box 22 inches. Plant have developed good root system and ready to be transplanted to the permanent location. Deciduous - It is dormant October to March - no leaves. This tree is often used as a screen to fence off properties as it is loaded with thorns. It is a rounded upright grower, and this is deciduous. They are hardy to at least USDA zone 5, and possibly colder. These plants would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard. Can be grown in container, pruned for bonsai. I ship Mondays or Tuesdays only.
