Description: Beautiful copy of the 1972 first pressing of Marvin Gaye’s classic What’s Going On LP on Motown / Tamla TS310. Still in the shrinkwrap and in just gorgeous condition. The disc is beautifully E+ on side one, with only a tiny superficial scuff that is barely noticeable. Plays absolutely flawlessly and truly stunningly. Side two has a more visible bit of surface scuffing on the first track, but it doesn’t make the slightest sound; on the last track there is a little mark that does tick for about 20 seconds. It is on the song Inner City Blues, and it starts just as the vocal comes in. The intro plays perfectly and then it ticks for a very short time when the vocal first starts, and then it stops and plays perfectly again until the end. The whole record plays absolutely perfectly except this one moment. Even with this little imperfection this is a truly stunning, stunning original copy. And the cover is pretty much pristine, with maybe just the tiniest, tiniest bit of wear at the lower right corner, barely at all. It is of course a gatefold cover but I can’t open it to show the picture inside without taking the shrinkwrap off. This is easily the best original copy of this album I have ever seen. Glorious.
