Also shown is a photo of the invoice from McPherson Guitars on 22nd FEBRUARY 2005 where I bought 1,800 of assorted picks. I eventually purchased the whole entire McPherson inventory of all of these picks that were in their warehouse !!! Get your set now before they are all sold !!! I took a picture of the pick in the digital Micrometer to show each picks approximate thickness / gauges. Mr. McPherson Sr. himself, use to call the RED pick the THIN, The BLUE's were a MEDIUM / THIN,,, The YELLOW's were the MEDIUM's,,, The GREEN's were a MEDIUM / HEAVY,,, AND the black GRAPHITE model was the HEAVY,,, and COST MORE because of the GRAPHITE MATERIAL,,, ( See other Listings of the McPherson Picks I have on e-Bay). Based on the photo micrometer readings and Mr. McPherson's design,,, each of the picks measures 1000th of an inch greater than the next color,,, The RED is .026 or .66mm The BLUE is .027 or .069mm The YELLOW is .028 or .71mm The GREEN is .029 or .74mm And the BLACK GRAPHITE is .030 or .76mm Try a set and see which one feels BEST in YOUR HAND !!! *** NEW Disclosure--- After a Customer Brought it to MY attention,,, HE said some of his RED's felt alittle more FLEXIBLE than his other order of RED's. I Randomly measured 4 different BULK BAGS of a 1000 each and did get 3-different mm thicknesses ??? Therefore "I" can NOT warrant,,, guarantee,,, or promise that their might be a slight 0.001" thousandth of a difference in-between these picks. "I" can "NOT" measure each set of 10 to get all within the same tolerance millimeters. These are really special made picks,,, Mr. McPherson himself when started making the picks, each were hand stamped / hammered from the material and he placed them into Large BULK ZIPLOCK BAGS. There may be a hanging chad from the punch on one or more of the picks you receive,,, this is not a defect but the hammer/punch die that cut the pick. You can sand it off by playing or a small emory fingernail board.Some other of my customers have said they shaved and trimmed down the point to even make a "SHARPER" picking point. IF you have ever played with one of these picks ... then you know what I am talking about.
