Colin Hay's songs, such as Man with Two Hearts, Everything I Need, Maria, Children on Parade and Hard Luck Story show a side of Hay that wasn't seen on the first two albums; his seriously sentimental and grown-up side. Greg Ham really comes to the fore as a songwriter this time around with Giving Up, Stay At Home, Snakes and Ladders and Still Life. Last but not least, Sail to You, which was written by all three of them sensing that there was still a little creative magic between them despite their differences.
