This transformer will power approximately 2 rings of Argon of 11" diameter ( like for a single or double ring neon clock). Or 1 Argon bulb of 5 feet like a neon Flamingo sculpture. These are 2 part transformers and you get both the small circuit board and the 12v 500ma AC adapter... The AC adapter puts out 12v . The circuit board takes the 12v and puts out 3,000volts at 10 milliamps . The Board is 2 ounces and 2 7/8" x 1" wide and 1 1/8" high.. It is built for neon signs ( and clocks , sculptures) , and neon only! It will not work in a Tesla coil, in a jacobs latter or Lichtenberg Wood Burning.. PLEASE PLEASE do not get it until you take your old sign into a shop first!! So many people do not realize one of their tubes are bad which killed their old transformer and then feel terrible when the new transformer dies. PLEASE GET THE TUBES CHECKED BEFORE BUYING A TRANSFORMER. Like a fluorescent light neon signs consist of a bulb and a ballast. If one of your bulbs is weak my transformer will last 1 week tops. On a fluorescent light it is easy to see when the bulb is out because it has blackened ends. On a neon sign you must MUST take it to a local sign shop so they can do a sparking coil test on your neon to see if any of the tubes need to be remade . Please do not assume “all my tubes must be fine , the sign is flickering so it’s the transformer”. That is an incorrect assumption, have the sign tested. THIS IS DANGEROUS HIGH VOLTAGE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!! My transformers last 15 years in my NEW signs , in an old sign , it may not work at all. Ask yourself the simple question.. WHY DID MY LAST TRANSFORMER DIE??? The answer is usually a neon tube that has some air in it. The bottom line is, if you do not have neon experience go to someone that does.
