Description: This is a NEW XLARGE CHUNKY TWIN NATURAL ORTHOCERAS (Straight Horn) CEPHALOPOD FOSSIL SPECIMEN. The fossil specimen features a larger Orthoceras (6.16" long) and the smaller twin Orthoceras (5.18" long) beside it. Both are embedded in the matrix stone. The fossil specimen has been polished on top and left unpolished on the bottom. The naturally occurring FOSSIL stone is xlarge and chunky. It has a nice finish and shine. Orthoceras Fossils were similar to present day squid. They come from ancient sea beds and date to the Silurian Age close to 400 million years ago. They are found in Morocco, North Africa. Great one of a kind treasure! Perfect for display or for any stone collector. The stone is HEAVY & DENSE. it weighs 1lb. 4 1/4oz. The fossil is 6.38" long X 3.57" wide and it is 1.47" thick.
