Description: Fabulous First Edition Book circa 1908 from Henry Erkin of New York’s Erkins Studios (whose piano and library lamps are prominently featured in the back of this book.) 55 pages. New York PLAISANCE (Pleasures) features multiple illustrations of the Amsterdam Theatre but even more so of the famous MURRAY’S Roman Garden Restaurant. One of the first themed restaurants in the USA it’s extravagance is generously exhibited with multiple pages full of plates and colorful illustrations. The last few pages of the book are full of period advertisements which (in our opinion) add extra charm and value to this piece. ***Also included in this sale will be a rare unmarked Postcard featuring the Fountain at Murray’s Main Dining Room (see last photo). Condition: VG - Considering book is over 100 years old there is no foxing! Most pages clear and bright. Front cover has minor ink spots. Slight tear in spine near top. We mention for full disclosure - bumped corners, ‘shaken’ binding, and some slight page toning. Minor ink spots on cover. NOTE: There is ONE page that has come loose from the binding which we have pictured. However, we were able to enjoy the book without worrying about additional pages falling out. Dimensions: 0.75" W x 12.0" H x 9.0" D ***Also included will be a rare unmarked Postcard featuring the Fountain at Murray’s Main Dining Room (see last photo).
