Description: This interesting and well-made turkeytail harrison was found in Shelby Co KY and is made from striped hornstone with a deep patina. It has a touch of cortex intentionally left on the tip. Leaving a bit of cortex seems to have been a touch mark favored by Red ochre culture knappers. This is a little unique in that the cortex is attached to the tip, whereas is more commonly left in the base. The reason for this is unknown- maybe was an artistic flourish or maybe it served some function. This point is well-made; has some nice transverse flaking and a well executed tiny base that also has a touch of cortex as well. 1122-47-1024 LIKE US ON FACEBOOK: STONER CREEK ARTIFACTS guarantee: all my artifacts come with a 30 day nqa return policy and are guaranteed to authenticate with a reputable authenticator (Dickey, Davis, Bennett, Jackson, or Stermer for western artifacts) LIFETIME GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY
