Description: Noritake Art Deco Cups Saucers Plates Christmas Ball #16034 Japan c.1921 Vintage About the China On offer are various china pieces from the Noritake, Christmas Ball, Pattern Number: 16034, collection. This is a beautiful Noritake pattern which has been hand painted with embossed, filigree gold. All the pieces are in excellent vintage condition with some small amount of faded gold, nothing of particular note. There are no chips, cracks or crazing at all and the very, very minimal scratching. The backstamp shows that the pieces I have on offer were manufactured in the c.1921-1924 period. The M in the center of the backstamp stands for Morimura: "...The history of Noritake china dates to 1876, when Japanese businessman Ichizaemon Morimura and his brother Toyo opened Morimura Brothers in New York City. ... There, he encountered the brilliance of French porcelain, which inspired him to create similar wares for the U.S. market."
