Description: Norman Rockwell Artists Proof AP Lithograph Print Tender Memories XXXV/XXXV Description and Item Information Up for sale is this professionally framed, vintage Norman Rockwell artist's proof lithograph print. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This limited edition print is titled "Tender Memories" (also known as "Fondly Do We Remember") and it is the third print in the "Four Ages of Love" folio. The print depicts a seated couple with a dog and a cat; the woman is holding a letter. The print was nicely matted and framed under glass by a professional frame shop. The sight area within the mat measures approximately 17 7/8 inches by 18 3/8 inches. The exterior frame dimensions are approximately 29 inches by 29 1/4 inches. Unpacked, this item weighs 9 pounds 13.9 ounces. Affixed verso is an envelope with paperwork from November of 1997, including a certificate from the Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge. Other paperwork includes information regarding care and framing, a letter to the original owner from the Norman Rockwell Museum, information about the Tender Memories image, an explanation and price list of Norman Rockwell limited edition signed prints, and a list of dealers of such prints. This artist's proof would be a fine addition to a collection of art by Norman Rockwell, one of America's best known painters and illustrators. Identification Per the included certificate from the Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge, this is an authentic, limited edition Norman Rockwell print, entitled, "Tender Memories," which was personally signed by Mr. Rockwell. The certificate is dated November 21, 1997, but the exact age of this piece is not known. This AP (artist's proof) print is numbered XXXV/XXXV. According to the included paperwork, the first 35 prints were artist's proofs that were given to Norman Rockwell himself; these prints were specially numbered with Roman numerals and personally signed by him, such as this one. The aforementioned notations were done in pencil below the image. The second group of 60 prints were unnumbered artist's proofs that were only marked AP. The final 200 prints of the edition were numbered in Arabic from 1 to 200. Thus, the total number of prints in the edition was 295. The Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge sold the 35 numbered artist's proof prints and the other 260 prints were sold elsewhere. Verso, there is a stamp mark from the California shop that framed this piece. Condition This piece looks great overall, as shown. I have not examined the artwork outside of the frame, since it was already beautifully framed when I acquired it. The frame has very light wear. The back side is as shown.
