Description: For sale is a Northwest Coast cedar bark basket. These baskets were used for storage or transportation of food such as berries or nuts. Making these baskets is an artform which begins with the knowledge of how to make the cedar barks strips into soft and flexible strands that can be woven into a basket using various techniques. This basket used plaiting which is a twilled weave where the weft strand crosses over and under two or more warp strands. Measurements are 4 inches high X 6 1/2 X 6 1/2 and in very good condition. I have been selling native art on ebay since 1999 so buy with confidence. Thank you for looking and please follow my store as new art is added often.
