The bow has a rich history as it originates from the N.Dakota Reservation and comes from the David Grindstone Estate. The ownership history is available, and it is believed to have been crafted centuries ago by a skilled Sioux artisan. The bow is made of high-quality materials that were customary for the Natives to use. Very rare to find one made with Elk ribs rather than wood. The two ribs are secured with rawhide. Other items are the use of horse hair. Feathers Buffalo hide. Cones and beads. It is a true masterpiece of Native American craftsmanship. It is ideal for collectors of historical and cultural artifacts, as well as anyone interested in Native American culture. This bow is a unique piece that will surely add a touch of authenticity to any collection. In doing My research on the Native bows I have seen some of these go for very high prices. Well over $10,00. This piece may well be much more valuable given the usage of the Elk Ribs. So I do think I priced it very fairly. To my knowledge of the family this was actually used in large ceremonial dances Still performed today.
