For those who are gluten sensitive, organic einkorn wheat can be a great alternative to modern wheat. Einkorn is an ancient grain that is much easier to digest, particularly when fermented through the sourdough process. You will receive: - 75 grams of starter shipped in an 8 ounce glass mason jar. This starter is live and active, not dehydrated. After it arrives you can have a loaf of bread fresh out of your oven within about two days. - Directions for your starter on how to feed it, store it, how to put it to sleep for up to two or three months if you take a break from baking, etc. - A detailed recipe for a delicious sandwich loaf (the recipe I use every week for my family!). It can be very low maintenance and I go over your options in the included directions such as keeping it in the fridge, versus on the counter. With a minimal amount of care you will never need to buy starter again. Using my method you will also never need to waste your einkorn flour by discarding starter as is common with other methods. You can use this starter in any recipe that calls for einkorn sourdough starter. There are many online! I will feed your starter right before shipping. When it arrives it will likely be hungry again, so you'll want to have einkorn flour on hand and either filtered water or good well water to feed it and start your sourdough journey.
