Description: Back in the 1990s my late husband traveled several times to Tanzania and Kenya on business. He brought back a great deal of local art and jewelry. I have more than my walls can handle so am selling some of the items I can let go of. Among these are a quantity of batiks that he purchase in a local market. (Sorry, I cannot remember if it was Tanzania or Kenya that these were found.) The theme for them all is the Maasai warriors. This batik measure 26 1/2" x 20". It is mostly deep and light blue with a shock of yellow. The edges of the batik are raw and unbound and are ready to be stretched and mounted for hanging. They are signed by the artist - what looks like S. Rowa. I've been unable to find anything about this artist. These are brand new, as purchased 30 years ago and are in original hand made condition having been stored in a dark closet for most of those years. The colors are still vibrant and there are no rips, tears or defects on them. I have quite a few more which I will be listing, but if you are interested in seeing the others for multiple purchase, let me know and I will send pictures. Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate to ask for additional pictures and further information.
