Description: Original, new/old stock merrowed beret flash and parachutist wings oval backing from the 250th Medical Detachment (Airborne), 62nd Medical Brigade, at Fort Lewis, WA. This was a field surgical unit initially attached to FORSCOM, and later the 62nd Brigade. It is now the 250th Field Surgical Team (FST), although the flash and ovals have changed. All personnel from this unit were airborne qualified, and typically wore parachutist wings on their uniforms (with colored oval backing on the service dress) as well as a maroon beret with flash in the same colors as the oval. Strangely enough, the colors of the flash & oval are essential the same as the HHC, 82nd Aviation Brigade. It is fully-embroidered, with a finished, merrowed edge border. These patches, and others, came from the supply room of a sew shop that had been in business in the Fort Lewis area since the Second World War era. That business recently closed down permanently and our shop bought a substantial amount of its vintage stock, including insignia for several older units that were also disbanded. If you are buying more than one patch from us, PLEASE use the shopping cart feature. We do combine postage, so your shipping costs will not increase by much if you buy more than one patch. Please check our other auctions for more military field equipment, uniforms, helmets, hats, insignia, patches, badges, bayonets, knives, multi-plier tools, and other weapon-related gear. Historical Military Sales has been in business since 1996 and offers a full range of current TA-50 and other US military equipment as well as the largest selection of authentic, vintage militaria in Washington State.
