Patek Philippe Pocket Watch

Description: LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY: On offer is a very well kept example of an early Patek Philippe pocket watch. The case resembles the Patek Philippe Officer watch. The officer, is now a legendary case. The hinged back is rare and takes its origins from the famous hunter and half hunter pocket watches similar to the one presented here. Included is an original Patek Philippe pouch as well as the certificate of authenticity in the form of an extract from the archive from Patek Philippe (500 chf when ordering alone). The lugs were added by a skilled jeweller (aftermarket). Upon inspection, they appear to be period correct and were added beautifully to the pocket watch. The leather straps are new and custom made in Germany (aftermarket). The case diameter is 28 mm, however, that does not take away from the watch’s wrist presence and makes it a perfect unisex watch. These early “officer” type pocket provide a unique opportunity for a pocket watch conversion due to the case size and profile of the watch. As indicated by the previous owner, the watch was inspected by a watch maker in Germany and he assured that the movement does work and wind. He also assured that the pin can be fixed by a watchmaker. Unfortunately, this watchmaker is now retired and can’t attend to the watch personally. In his career, he worked for bucherer for over 20 years (now owned by rolex) as well as supervised for Patek Philippe. He had the below to say: “The movement works perfectly. The problem is the winding stem with crown, which can be pulled out of the case. However, the watch can still be wound. To wear the watch, the crown and winding stem would have to be pulled out so that it does not get lost.” The watch has been in a safe since I acquired it. I have not attempted to fiddle with the watch to maintain its integrity and to avoid damaging any parts. This is a very unique and rare piece, in a beautiful condition for its age.
