Description: Pioneer KE-5100 Digital Stereo Car Radio with Cassette Deck "Vintage" early 1980s. Works great on radio and cassette. See my video bench test. My personal radio from my VW station wagon. I saved it once the car was sold, I could not let it go!! But now car radios are all built in with wide faceplates for CD changers, etc. I kept it in a dry basement with dehumidifier, hoping to use it someday, and it never happened. So this is no garage sale find! Has 3 band selectors: AM, FM1 and FM2. 15 station memory. Tuning dial will seek for stations. Scan button samples stations for 5 seconds and then goes onto the next station. Beautiful green digital readout. Get out your old homemade cassettes and enjoy the 1980s again. With cassettes being virtually gone, I had to find some to test for you. My old Byrds cassette was the test tape. The quality of the tape was average. The tape played, fast forwarded rewound, replayed, stopped. Ejected. Reinserted, replayed, etc. The main drive belt was replaced with an official "square" belt, and old residue was thoroughly cleaned. The rubber roller was also cleaned. Please see the photos. You can see that I set it up for a bench test with 12V positive voltage. See the short video of the radio playing in my basement. The FM signal from a mountain nearby was good. The dials and mounting brackets are there, the dials are in beautiful shape. AM radio works but reception is terrible out here in the country. Comes with the owners manual sheet to help decode all the colored wires out the back.
