This distribution service is not compatible with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed or leafGreen, as the Old Sea Map/Faraway Island was not in those games. In Pokemon Emerald, a new special in-game event was added; a mystical island known as Faraway Island, which could only be accessed via a new item added: the Old Sea Map. However, this event is very unique in comparison to many others, as it went completely undistributed overseas; the above mentioned special in-game event was only ever properly distributed to players in Japan, and thus was only available to Japanese Pokemon Emerald cartridges. Due to this, the event went completely inaccessible to many fans around the world. This distribution service is meant to allow those who wish to gain access to Old Sea Map and catch Mew the opportunity to do so many years after its inception. However, an important element to remember about this event is that, as mentioned, it was never distributed to any Pokemon Emerald copy that wasn’t Japanese. Due to this, many consider the Mew you can encounter and catch on Faraway Island to be illegitimate if caught on non-Japanese Pokemon Emerald, despite their ability to legitimately transfer up into Pokemon Bank and Home. You’re free to consider such however you like, but this element of the event is why I have also made specific mention of this distribution service compatible with Japanese Pokemon Emerald cartridges, as for those who wish for their Pokemon to be transferable and count as 100% legitimate, you have the option of using a Japanese Emerald copy. This event makes a great gift for those looking to relive (or in this case, experience for the first time) secret Pokemon events, those looking to complete their Pokedex, event Pokemon collectors, among many other things. (This listing contains bonuses alongside the Old Sea Map, so continue reading for further information) General Information:Upon purchase, messaging me or showing interest, I will go ahead and run through all of the requirements your game(s) need to meet in order to receive the service(s) of interest. There are typically other questions I ask as well, usually in regards to customer specifics and the like, but assuming all of your answers demonstrate a clear ability for your game(s) to partake in the service(s), I’d then give the okay for you to purchase (assuming you hadn’t done so already), and once you have done so, I will send you my address to move things along. When the distribution service(s) is/are complete and I’ve gotten confirmation from you that all of the work I’ve done on your game(s) looks correct and as you want it, I will mail your game(s) back to you as soon as I can and you’ll be free to use your new Old Sea Map(s) once your package makes a safe return. As previously stated, the Old Sea Map Mew event was never distributed anywhere outside of Japan, and thus the event is considered to be illegitimate by many if performed on non-Japanese Pokemon Emerald. However, the Mew caught from the event regardless of language can actually be transferred up to Pokemon Bank and Home with no problem (I have tested such myself). Detailed Information:The most important requirement for this service is that you need to be mailing in (an) AUTHENTIC Pokemon Emerald cartridge(s) - reproduction cartridges will NOT work! This holds true for both US Emerald cartridges and JP Emerald cartridges. This is due to reproduction cartridges storing their saves in the ram as opposed to the dedicated save sector of genuine cartridges, and as such, it means I am unable to reach the save to distribute the event item (or Wonder Card). In order to partake in this service, I will require you to send me clear photos of the front and back of your cartridge(s) so I can make sure your cartridge(s) is/are guaranteed to be authentic. Regardless of if you choose to send in a US/non Japanese copy of Pokemon Emerald or not, the process by which you will receive the Old Sea Map remains unchanged. Once your game arrives, I will directly inject the Mystery Gift/Wonder Card directly into your game save. Once again, if sending in a Japanese cartridge, you will receive the authentic Wonder Card used in the original event run, and if sending in a non-Japanese cartridge, you will receive a custom Wonder Card that triggers the event as if it was distributed legitimately. Please be aware that this will overwrite any previous Wonder Cards you may have, as you can only store one Wonder Card in Generation III. In order to have the Old Sea Map be distributed to your game, you first must have the Mystery Gift option in the main menu unlocked. Thankfully, unlocking Mystery Gift in Emerald is very simple and can be done nearly as soon as you start the game. All you need to do is go to any Poke Mart in the games and interact with the clipboard on the main counter. From here, simply enter the phrase "LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL" (or if you need the phrase for Japanese Emerald, please watch this video: https://youtu.be/sozc4oaxyKw), and if you input everything correctly, the clerk will inform you that you can now use Mystery Gift in the menus upon saving and quitting. From there, I will distribute the Old Sea Map to your cartridge. It's important to note that while I can distribute the Wonder Card at any time as long as Mystery Gift has been unlocked, there is a specific point in Emerald where actually using the event items to travel to the event islands becomes available; they cannot be used right away. Specifically, in Pokemon Emerald, you can travel to Faraway Island as soon as you beat the Pokemon League for the first time. If you would like to mail in your game(s) to partake in the service before access to traveling to the event islands has been unlocked, that’s very much so an option for you. Regardless, once the event item has been distributed, go to the top floor of the Pokemon Center, where you’ll then find a man in blue at the top left of the room. Upon talking to them, they will give you your Old Sea Map, which you are then free to use. If you wish to use it, you can use it to travel to Faraway Island at Lilycove City. Once at Faraway Island, you must venture deeper into the island until you reach the forest. Once there, you’ll see that Mew has noticed you and fled. From there, all that’s left is for you to corner Mew in the tall grass, and once you have, a wild encounter with Mew will begin! Please note that this service is only for authentic Pokemon Emerald cartridges, and the Old Sea Map is one of the few secret events/islands that is only available in Pokemon Emerald. Any Generation III game that isn’t Pokemon Emerald is not compatible with this listing. Also, if you do not meet the requirements mentioned above to receive the Old Sea Map but send in your cartridge(s) believing you do meet them, I will unfortunately refund you and send your cartridge(s) back, though I cannot refund shipping. This section is frequently updated with new questions and improved/more detailed answers. “Do my GBA Pokemon game’s internal clock battery being dead matter for this service?:”No - your Pokemon game’s internal battery does not affect my ability to perform this service for you in any way regardless of if it is still functional or currently dead. “Do you offer a service to replace a GB/GBC/GBA Pokemon game’s dead (internal clock) battery?”Unfortunately not at this moment, though I want to in the future. Once I feel comfortable enough with the soldering process (and of course have spare batteries), I will consider it further. “Do you take requests for special and/or custom orders?”I cannot guarantee that I’ll be able to help with specific and custom requests, but it never hurts to ask. This will very likely never be something I offer, unless I happen to stumble upon spare copies through some means. Please do not bank on the small chance of this happening. “Is this service done via cheating (GameShark, Action Replay, etc)?”Typically, none of my services involve cheating in any way and are all done to be as authentically as possible. Any that may be considered cheating or not legitimate are explicitly stated as such within their respective descriptions. Feel free to ask about the specific ones if you so wish. “Do you offer your services internationally? Can I mail my game in despite being outside of the US?”Yes, all of my services are currently set up for national shipping. Just to say, please be aware of the high costs that come from partaking from outside of the US since you are paying for both shipping to and from. If purchasing multiple services from me and shipping does not automatically combine, which it seems to not do if buying overseas, please let me know so I can refund you the $25 back. “Do these services work on non-English cartridges?”Yes, a vast majority of my services will work on non-english cartridges. Naturally some of them require a bit of a different process, such as if you want the Oak’s Letter distribution service performed on a Japanese copy of Platinum, I would instead distribute the authentic Japanese Wonder Card instead of the English one since it wouldn’t work properly, but the end result would still be the same ans result in you receiving an authentic Oak’s Letter. “Do I have to send in my system along with the game?”In regards to cartridges being played on GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS, no - those cartridges’ save files are stored within the cartridges themselves, rather than something like the Nintendo Switch save files, which are stored on the system itself regardless of if playing a game physically or digitally. For non-cartridge/digital games however, most of which in this case refer to the 3DS (eShop, Virtual Console), then yes, you would need to send in your entire system. “Is there any way we can communicate outside of eBay messaging?”Yes - you are free to send me a friend request and message me on Discord via my ID of Mvw#0426 - this is very likely the best way to message me, as I’m very active on there (though before friending me, please send a message on eBay letting me know of you sending a friend request so I know who sent it and whether or not to accept said friend request or not.). For the record, I do want to say that the account used is still my personal Discord - I don’t have a separate business account or anything, so do with that as you will. “Can you transfer this Pokemon up to a different generation and trade/transfer it from there?”All events shown are technically compatible with all future generations unless they’re a Ticket/Item distribution service like the Eon Ticket or are specifically mentioned to not transfer up (to Bank and Home), so if you want a Generation 3 WishMaker Jirachi in Pokemon Black 2 for example, let me know and we can discuss this. I’m aware that many will want me to transfer these up into Bank and Home for trading purposes, and yes, I can go ahead and do that too if you so wish. With that said, please be aware it may take a bit of time to transfer everything upwards, and I admittedly do not particularly enjoy this process for anything prior to Gen 6. “Do you plan to offer services for other Pokemon games (LGPE, SWSH, BDSP, PLA, SV, Home, etc)?”I definitely have plans for services for other Pokemon titles in the future, though I don’t have much more concrete information to give at present time. Making these services is a lot more work on my end than it may seem, since I have to write up the description (which as I’m sure you can tell, I always make as thorough and detailed as possible), make the thumbnail, take the best pictures possible, update previous descriptions to include the new listing as a service I offer, update the Q&A if required, and so on. Regardless, this does tie into the special requests and custom orders section too - if you’d like me to perform a service on any of these games, feel free to ask and I’ll see what I can do here as well. “Under what circumstances will you cancel or refund an order?”Upon purchasing one of my services, I will send you a message on the matter. If I notice that you have not yet replied after a few days, I will send a follow up message. If I notice again that you have still not yet replied, I will send a final notice, and if I manage to see that you have still not yet replied, I will cancel your order. With that said, It is not my responsibility to babysit your purchase. If I do not hear back from you, even if you have actually replied at some point, it is very possible I will forget about your purchase, move onto helping others who are keeping contact, and therefore not cancel your order. Do the listings end once the quantity reaches zero? Should I purchase now to avoid missing out? Do I really have to wait that long to receive my game back?”Don’t worry - the shipping times and estimated delivery dates shown are not correct whatsoever. The estimated shipping and delivery times only show as such a long time purely so I can give the customer as long of a time period as I possibly can to mail their game out. As mentioned in the previous question’s response, eBay expects me to purchase and prepare a shipping label after a certain period of time, so I have the maximum shipping time set to give as much time as possible for the customer to get their package ready and the like. Keep in mind that I naturally only want to purchase a shipping label when I’m ready to actually ship, so purchasing one and then having it expire is definitely not something I’d like to have happen. “How do I know this service is legit? How do I know you will mail my game back?”Easily my most commonly asked question, and one I naturally fully understand. Sending your games or even your entire 3DS/2DS to someone you don’t know can be very intimidating and concerning, so I hope the reasons I give share can be understood and go beyond “that’s morally wrong!” To start, please keep in mind that in order for me to actually receive your game/system, I have to send you my address, so if I ever were to not send your game back, you now have my address, proof of a valid purchase, a listing linked to said purchase, and an account you can report to eBay. I also give out my full name when giving my address if anyone needs it for their package, so you would have even more information on me as an individual you could report if need be. I hope that these reasons give you a good idea of why such wouldn't be feasible on my end, and ultimately an incredibly poor idea.
