Description: Quilted wall hanging, approximately 14” x 14”, made to order. Another addition to my nature mini-quilt collection, these azaleas are meant to remind you of a walk in the springtime woods. I had to find just the right color background fabric to match the bright green leaves of the azaleas blooming outside my door (thank you, Suzy, for sending me a photo and giving me the idea!) That fabric and the wonderful variegated green batik formed the base layer on this raw-edge applique. After attaching the trees, I selected my most jewel-toned fabrics and cut the blossoms out, then fused them onto the base. I added two more layers, then quilted them all together, free motion, on my sewing machine. I used my sewing machine to add the details in the center of the flowers, and finally the edge binding was attached by hand in the traditional manner. Each piece I make is unique, so your mini-quilt will have slight variations in design, fabric and quilting patterns, but overall it will look very similar to the one pictured. Lightweight, and this seriously takes ten seconds to hang with clear tacks (included) and a 12" wooden dowel (included).
