Excellent condition. The Consolidated Fruit Jar Company (CFJCo) was in business from 1871 to 1908 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The company was formed by Lewis R. Boyd, John L. Mason, and two others to renew patents for Mason fruit jars and maintain control of them. CFJCo manufactured tinned-steel lids and screw bands for the jars, and contracted glass houses to produce the glass containers. The company also patented a white milk-glass insert for zinc screw lids on hand-blown glass jars to keep food from touching the metal and preserve it longer.
