Description: Rare circa 1900 women's undergarment, pale blue silk with silver chrysanthemum blooms. Handmade bobbin lace trimming the top. The shoulder straps do not adjust. This is a large, loose item. The waist is 44" and the length is 38" from the shoulders to the hem. It belonged to my great-great-grandmother who lived in the Dutch East Indies from 1859 to 1940. She would have worn this under her clothes. This item could be comfortably worn as a slip or nightgown. The seams appear machine made and are beautifully finished. Please note that the outdoor photos make the item look almost white. The true pale blue color is better viewed on the indoor photos. Hand washed and line dried. Shipped folded. Thanks for stopping by for a look at a bit of my family history!Item #FF
