This piece is also called " Forest Princess" and later Parrish painted out background and retitled "Griselda". Sue Lewin her long-time model posed for this piece. She is wearing the same belt and in the same pose as "Land of Make Believe" done around the same time! Of note this sale is for the Rare "Art Print" on titled mount and not the Century Magazine plate! Beautiful image pictures a Princess (modeled by Susan Lewin) against a flowering forest with Waterfall and rocky landscape The prince in background, near waterfall, is heading towards her. come into the presence of the Princess. Originally the image was published in Century magazine accompanied by a poem. This rare printing is from a private Library collection as noted on back of C. D. McLane and is in perfect 111-year-old condition. Overall mounted size is 8 1/2" x 11 1/4" with actual art being 4 3/4" x 6 1/8". Print is mounted or tipped onto a heavy cream mount with title.
