Try finding another one, and in very good original condition. Maybe a specimen laboratory storage container? Possibly used in the war? Stamped on the top "LABORATORY FURNITURE CO. INC." I believe this was the company located in Mineola N.Y. mid century and before. Measures 21" wide, 11" tall, 11" deep and weighs 21-1/2 pounds and is still very sturdy. Plenty of pictures from every angle show the overall appearance. Look at them closely as they are the biggest part of the description.
