Description: This is a very hard to find B. Altman Leather portfolio. A new one from Spain will cost more than my asking price. This also has two storage pockets and an envelope style slot on the exterior. The larger slot can hold around 40-44 pages and the smaller slot around 30. This is not a tiny or ultra thin portfolio. Nor is it massive. The dimensions are 14x10x1.75 inches. I don't have the key but nothing is locked and any tiny luggage key should work if you cared to use it. The locks snap shut and open perfectly. There are some natural raised black spots on the interior smooth parts that are indicative of pig skin and often used for its durability in such portfolios. No mold or mildew but I cleaned it thoroughly myself when purchased and I've used it to carry copy paper documents with no hint of any unpleasant odors. It actually smells nice. It's an antique but fully functional. The patina is Gorgeous and hard to replicate even with modern leather technology. The creamy exterior and the more robust interior coloration and staining is from older methods not used today for the most part. B. Altman & Co. opened in 1906 and was one of the first department stores to open out of town branches.
